New Patrons Initiative in Nigeria

New Patrons - Nouveaux commanditaires, Lagos, May 2014

Since 2013 Alexander Koch, chairman of the New Patrons in Germany, collaborates with the Goethe Institut Lagos to inspire a New Patrons initiative in Nigeria. Last year Mahammodu Yahaya, Nigerian artist, curator and author, started his work as Nigerias first New Patrons mediator, and he is currently developing a commission in the northern part of the country. This may, in Lagos some 20 engaged individuals working in culture, journalism, and social development joined the initiative and aim for supporting the programme.
