The context
On July 21, 1999, the municipality of Vitteaux, at the initiative of its deputy mayor François Sauvadet, commissioned a work to celebrate the transition to the year 2000.
The commission
Ten years later, a saucer landed surreptitiously and "as best it could" on its territory (Bernard Paut being the first edile). This was the " delayed " sculpture project conceived and created by Sylvie Fleury.
Sylvie Fleury
Sylvie Fleury, born in 1961 in Geneva, is an artist with multiple resources and a particularly strong talent. Her works are generally based on the exhibition of objects that are a priori invested in society with a strong aesthetic value and a sentimental or fantastical attachment. From the worlds of men and women, cars, rockets, heels shoes, make-up products or shopping bags in the colours of major brands, many objects are formally reinvested in avant-garde art creations. His career is very strongly international but his world is a mosaic of proximity.
