The context

The patrons wanted to celebrate the new approach to economic exchanges and human relations that Charles Fourier, a Besançon-born thinker and theorist of universal harmony, aims to establish.

The commission

The artist has focused on the extraordinary invention of Fourier's conceptual vocabulary. She chose the term "celadony" which refers to a particular and open form of empathy, including love. Produced as a flashing sign of an "amusement park" (another word used by the author of the "New world of love"), the work aims to display this imaginary name, with strong poetic resonances, in the everyday and prosaic urban space. Susceptible to move around the city, it is part of the project of a "Fourier route" in Besançon (see Auvray, Ethridge,...)

Svetlana Heger

For a time associated with the Bulgarian artist Plamen Dejanov, Svetlana Heger was of Czech origin. Born in 1968, she lives in Berlin. His work is multifaceted and characterized by its emphasis on the notion of value linked to desire.
